HOMERTON TEAM UPDATE: robbery suspect Arrested

I wanted to provide you an update regarding robbery, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Earlier this week, PCSO's from the Homerton Safer Neighbourhoods Team detained a female on Mare Street, E8, who was suspected of having committed robbery offences earlier in the week. During arrest she was identified to have committed an offence that very same morning on Mare Street.

Thanks to the proactive patrols and swift actions of the PCSOs, the suspect was safely detained and subsequently arrested by another officer on the team. This result showcases the ongoing commitment of Homerton SNT to tackle business crime and keep the community safe.

Officers will continue their visible patrols in the area and remain dedicated to reducing crime and improving public confidence across Homerton Ward.

• Do not leave your phone, tablet or other digital goods unattended, out of sight or on a table.  

• Be aware of your surroundings and only use your phone when it is safe to do so. 

• Put your phone away when you have finished using it.  

• Secure your phone by choosing a strong pin or password 

• Keep a note of your IMEU number (to access, type *#06# on your phone keypad) 

• Plan your route, especially if you are going somewhere you have not been before. Keep to busy, well-lit streets and walkways. Move with purpose and appear confident.
